I had my indy back in Ohio put in S&S Gear Drive in my bike before I brought it down here. I went with gear drive because I don't want to have to take the cam chest back apart in the future. I bought the parts online. Got the best deal on the gear drive kit on Amazon (S&S 509G). I bought most everything else on Ebay (S&S Quickie Pushrods, S&S lifters, Ultima High Volume Oil Pump, push rod cover gaskets, etc). Between the parts and labor the whole job cost me $1350.00
$1000.00 for parts. $350.00 for labor
It was cheaper to pay for the labor than it was for me to buy the tools to do the job myself.

Search is your friend here. Been round and round. You need a signature line for your bike since there are many variations on what is in there to change. EVOs are fine. Newer bike with roller cam chains no longer have problems. (Only link chains have a problem and they are best dealt with by just changing tensioners and then monitor at 20K and note wear for next check.. There is no true upgrade except for new cams and roller chains which is hardly worth it.

not a very difficult job.you will also want to replace your inner cam bearings and replace them with the torrington bearings.you will need a puller to remove and install bearings.
