This year Veterans Day falls on Wednesday the 11th of November.
So we can go the weekend before or the one after. 6th -8th or 13th to 15th. Thoughts/preferences? We have also discussed moving the rally to another hotel/location but need suggestions for hotels and where. The hotel MUST have a bar and restaurant and of course parking. We would prefer a hotel with rooms that have parking outside them, not the chain type hotel with a 4 storey main block.
I did a lot of work with Murph and Tina to find the Quality Inn in Palatka. It's fine but was less hospitable this past year than the previous 2 years. Many attendees felt they weren't as welcoming as they could have been, they were not accomodating in terms of the room availability and the hospitality room was sorely missed. The other thought is to give them one more try. One suggested location was Daytona Beach, certainly there is no shortage of hotels to choose from and in November we could probably get great rates.
Please chime in with your suggestions, thoughts and ideas. Any knowledge of other hotels would be awesome.

You might want to check with the Quality inn to see which of those two weekends would be better, meaning not as likely to conflict with other groups like they had this past year.
As far as Daytona Beach is concerned: WHAAAAA....NO, PLEASE NO, I LIVE THERE!!!! I would be reluctant to pay for a hotel room when my bedroom is only a few minutes away.
Steevo just let me know he can only do the second weekend so that's decided. He's one of the original Crew that always attends so I'm going to pick that weekend now.
Frank there is a bar called the Oyster house a 3 minute walk which would do for food and drinks, I think as long as there is breakfast free, most would be happy. The hotel has a bar so that works too. The riding is nice over Ocala way, we have the National Forest and out west to ride in. It's just a thought for now but I don't want to leave it too late to get booked, I may have to drive up there and take a look. It's very hard to find a hotel that's not a high rise, that has a bar and restaurant on site. Those are our criteria
I haven't attended but am curious as to what criteria needs to be met. Not wishing to be negative but the restaurant mentioned isn't one I'd recommend. The Citrus county area seems to be very bike friendly, fwiw.
Thanks

See Lauren's message above for what the criteria is for a place to hold the rally. I'm sure she would like to here a little more about the restaurant and why you would not recommend it.
