Yep, I've been told by the pool guys of the bucket test. If you have steps, place it on there so it's same temperature as pool water.

TY. That is a good idea. (I am ribbing the guys who mentioned it above.)

It really is a good idea. Coincidently Kel my 'ole friend, I have a good size bucket on the patio now. I'll filler up and pop it onto the step and measure the water level. "Tanks".......

I know where I live we have had squat for rain. Weatherbug App says daily 50-70% chance and it never happens. Been consistently above 90+ every day and with not many clouds so its killer fishing weather and also good weather to

cause a ton of evaporation. I'm glad yu found it to be weather related vs a leak. No fun chasing water leaks !! ☮️

@BuzzCap7 Hopefully, you used square root & pie are squared that learned you for your calculations, looks like the bucket water trip worked. Now you can wear it on your head instead of a helmet.

Funi. Very funi.

You know, I was hoping with you living in NY/PA and "this here" area being the Regional FL area, I was hoping 1 just 1, just 1 tiny itty bitty place to have sanctuary from you but nooooOOOOooooo. No such luck.

I have to ask UKLauren the gal who runs the show here and a gal I have always loved dearly and riding with her years back, to tighten up the security and vetting process for anyone trying to get into the FL Regional area.

Maybe a PIX of you (not your cabin on the lake, I LOVE YOUR CABIN on the lake) 'juss a PIX of you with a horizontal line thru it at the entry of "this here" place would be in order keeping the riffy raffy out. OH OH

Hey the CBer, I have something for you................................... LOL!!!!

Can't catch me. Peeeeeooooooowwwwww...........

With all the rain we get here this time of year if you have to pump water into a pool instead of pumping it out I'd say you've got a leak!

Right. That is what instigated this thread. Thanks HM. After I think it was Mono-Geezer above said he learned from a pool guy to put a bucket of water in the pool on the top step or so and see if it is pool/bucket evaporation or if the the pool water goes down and the bucket of water stay up.

As it turns out my friend, The bucket of water and pool water level moved in tandem. So all is GOOD. 'juss evaporation.

I'll tell you another thing why it is likely evaporation. My lawn has started to brown. Not normal. So I increased the sprinkler times 5 minutes. Also IMO confirmation there is a longer and/or more intense heat causing evaporation.

I asked M-Geezer to come down and run the test for me but he is still upset about my eating most of his BBQ chicken wings about a week ago. How is that my fault? He makes the BEST EVER BBQ wings. Next time buy more BBQ wings. I can eat 2 dozen easily. Or maybe HM, it was my having his last beer. Not sure which. But it was not my fault. I am too good looking for anything to be my fault. (Notice I did not say too smart.) LOL Can't catch me. Peeeeeooooooowwwwww...........

Don't like our pool. Wife loves it. Just had to buy a new saltwater system to replace our 20-year-old system. Seems like its always something.
