We will be happy to kick a little cash to the cause, I tried to contribute last year but no one would take the money.

This happened to me as well Dave ... Kind of felt like a freeloader enjoying the Tap Beer and eating the oysters and no one wanted any money .. I will even take the money and store in my paypal account.. If no one else wants the burden but can assure you not 1 penny goes in my pocket .. This is strictly for the rally .. Well maybe might buy a 6 pack for the trouble LOL

If we set up an account then everyone could just donate what they want or can afford it would put us way ahead of last year. No one should have to foot the bill for anything by themselves. jmo

I agree Dale. The only question is, what exactly is the fund paying for? I'm not at all being negative here, just pointing that people need to have an idea so that they can feel comfortable that they have made a "fair" contribution without over doing it. The following is just a short list of things that have a significant effect on the size of the needed "kitty".

Are we having a band or playing MP3,s?
Beer keg or open bar?
Is the kitty to cover the BBQ dinner?
Trophy's?
Other?

Just sayin, at $20 x 50 people that's $1,000, and if the kitty doesn't cover the BBQ and we're just doing MP3s and a beer keg, that's over doing it.

We certainly have a lot of generous folks in our group and I don't see a shortfall of funds as a problem, but figuring out how to handle the surplus (all comical suggestions aside) could be a headache.

Since to date we seem to be going nowhere fast when it comes to nailing things down for the Rally (100 Indians and no Chiefs), I propose the following and am looking for someone to second it.

Dale, since you are the trusted and esteemed Moderator of the forum, you should setup a PayPal account to handle the expenses, what ever those might be.

If I recall correctly Dale, you have or know of a "connection" to a BBQ caterer. Let's get per head price from them and plan on using them unless they are out of line. Yes, there are probably other suggestions but continuing to toss the selection around gets us nowhere.

Music, MP3's are fine. Frankly I think we are more interested in background music and talking to each other than being entertained by a band.

We need to know how many kegs we consumed last year and their cost.

We need to know what Oysters for the group will cost, if the provider would just be so kind as to provide the delivery of said delicacy.

What did we spend on Trophies last year?

Let's get this rolling

Do I Hear a Second?
