Well, I got off my couch and onto my rolling stool in the garage
Good news is I got the darn thing loose from the manifold (where the air cleaner goes) and that is a relief because it actually pulls apart an 1/8 of an inch. I know I getting somewhere because it started leaking oil from the case where the cams are!
Bad news it hits something like a solid thunk at that 1/8 inch. I can't imagine anything being held inside the air intake (every bolt i see is loose) The thunk feels like its at the top and not at the cam case. However to get the cam case off and be sure I need to remove the entire exhaust, which I JUST put back on due to the Y pipe crcking in half a while ago.
So there ya have it, Exhaust comes off next and Ill know for sure. Yeah I should have drained the oil, but now I know it really is loose!
Any ideas what could be keeping in attached? The cover to the cam area on the supercharger wont come off, so could it really just slip off?
Well, back to the couch I've got video games to play to get rid of my frustration!
Looks like I made a breakthrough! With the great help of this board HDForums, I went to the engine tech forum and mentioned my situation. Another guy gets 150HP and 140 Tq Holy $h!t, he says he burns rubber unintentionally all the way through 3rd. TOO much power! Lol
Anyways, another guy knew the website for the bikes version of Magna, all I got was the auto version with no help from them. Anyways, from the website they explain it is a simple bolt-on installation. Great news for a green mechanic like myself, sent them an e-mail and left a voice mail for some literature on installation/removal/service.
Yeah, I'm a bit of a procastinater. I have to watch my anger, I have mellowed out tremendously in past few years. I need to walk away and avoid frustrating situations often, kind of why you do the grocery runs dave Just to get away right?
Oh I'll make the rally btw! I was thinking even better rent one from here and still ride with you guys, rather than rent in ocala..duh why didnt I think of that. Well, this is worse case scenario of course. At least the rental will get better gas mileage being stock! Lol
