When the wife and I travel (especially with the kid) we tend to stay in the marriotts. Like chuck and jeff are saying, we have matured and become sucessful enough that we shouldnt have to lower our standards so low to sleep with urine and cockaroaches.
Now, don't take my man card just yet, I will pitch a tent or rough it with the cheap motels when the time calls. Just want the better nights for my two girls.

I have a guy I work with that did just that..... The first year we all went to Key West, he was going with some of his friends the week prior. He made the comment he was going to trailer his bike to Miami and then ride it down to the keys. I started teasing him, and he still will not ride with me....
Really good post, I am off to Key West in March after bike week and at present investigating where to stay down there, we are only staying a couple of nights but still trying to find somewhere reasonable is not easy, the best found so far is:Marrero's Guest Mansion for $190 a night.
