Default Got a Rally querry...

From what I understand we lost our hotel manager from the past two years...? Last year she had mentioned opening up the 'back 40' for a band and some bike games. Is the new manager up for this? Is there a band lined up? Reason I ask is... I've got a kid (24) that works with me and has a really good band climbin the ropes and may even get a record contract in the near future. They're a 'thrash/grunge' kinda band that goes by Next to Holiday. They've got a website anyone can check out. Talkin to him at lunch today, he was quite interested in playin for us. Didn't talk monies, but he pretty much said he'd love to do it just to get their name out there and party down with the rest of us. Of coarse he'd have to talk all that over with his bandmates. I'm thinkin we could get them just for the price of fuel there and back. So... what is the deal with the back 40 and havin a band?

Hmm, this could be bad. Hopefully the replacements will be as cool as the previous management. As for the band, we do need to clear it with the hotel of course since they are not the ones setting it up.
As for our opinion, well as long as I'm not bangin my head all night long its all good with me. I like all kinds of music, just not too much of one kind.

Maybe you should just call murph since he's GP and has nothing better to do than to coordinate this sort of thing. Or call yourslef with the info or necessary arrangements to be made.

Greg, I don't by any means speak for the group, but this was put up for a group vote months ago, and the consensus was that a mix (variety) of MP3 tunes along with our banjo guru was the preferred choice. Given the age mix of the Crew, 20's - 70's, I suspect a 'thrash/grunge' band would fall a bit short of having a group wide appeal.

Again, just my

Forrest, the other Spyder rider from last years rally, is 79. Of course I don't think he's coming this year.

Well, it's not my place to publicly post other peoples ages, but rest assured we have more than one over 70, and alot more than a few in the 50's-60's, that probably aren't interested in spending the evening listening to to a grunge band.

My two cents...riding, BS'ing with other 'Crew'....having a few brews is Priority.
Music?.....MP3s, alternating Ultra Classic stereos? Who knows...maybe a banjo here and there.
Grunge thrashing? not so much (or any other band that could draw ire to us at a hotel
where so far we have gained respect.)
Maybe they could get a gig at Gator Joes.....and we could have a ride over there to see them (G-Joes might go for it for the price of gas).

Greg,
A band was talked about, but the general consensus was to have a mp3 playing background music. As for the back 40, it was not available, but we did get the whole back parking lot to do the games.

If you have any questions, please give me a call.
