Thanks everyone! Of course you will ALL have an open door up here!!!!
We just got our first written offer on our Palm Coast home. The low-ball offer is being counter-offered, so we'll know in a day or two if we have a real deal. Playing the game.
I've started-off on a few rides up here where the temp begins in the 40's already. I have some winter gear that seems to work o.k., but a lot of folks have heated gear. I can't quite accept the whole concept yet. But hey, if it gives me a few more riding weeks up here, I may have to start accepting that I ain't in Kansas anymore.
I could drool all over a thread or two about the roads up here. Even my neighbourhood stuff is cool and the ride to work has lots of hills and twisties. It VERY MUCH reminds me of Marion County there in Florida. Lots of huge horse ranches, rolling hills. I am nowhere near all the infamous horrible Atlanta traffic that lots of folks associate to. I have a country ride to work, and we are house-hunting for 1+ acre places which are also in country settings.
Last weekend I was taken to Wolf Pen Gap to ride. The tiny-*** skinny two-lane road cuts through a mountain pass that actually makes the Dragon seem tame. I have no idea how they got paving equipment through and around the hair-pin hill turns. No guardrails on most of it, lots of little white crosses along the way marking accident sites, and breath-taking views when you are stupid and you take your eyes off the road. LOL
I'm sure some of you guys can point out a few more places that are awesome riding, but basically it is the near (or on) that famous Route 129 (the same one that the Dragon is on). Incredible riding experiences that are bringing a whole new dimension to the sport.
I will do better at staying in touch. You guys, of course, are still having LOTS of fun.
I am doing my best to somehow/some way get myself to Ocala. The odds are looking poor right now.
Glad to hear from ya Paul, was just wonderin about ya. Looks like the perfect job in the perfect riding local. Hope the move go's okay and you get at least a 6 car garage that can hold 20 visiting Harleys and their riders,
Awesome, Paul! Only the best to ya. Have a BL for each of us!
As MB pointed out, a 6car/20Harley garage will be needed.
Our Palm Coast house went under contract last week. After countering to a low-ball offer, the buyer accepted our original asking price after my counter put the price right back up again.
We put an offer in to BUY a house up here last night. I'll know by Wednesday whether the owners accept my terms. I did not offer an insulting price. (now that I know how that feels).
Obviously we have been very busy, and sadly, I won't make the rally this year. I'm sure everyone understands the very busy time we are in the middle of.
I will be thinking of you each this weekend, I wish you all fair skys and smooth roads.
We'll let you slide this time as long as you promise to do your best to try and make it next year. I'm sure that the GP has your cell number, you must be on standby just in case anyone tries to make a rule. Seriously, you will be missed, glad everything is going well for you.
Congratulations on your new job, new house hunting and the sale of your home....My wife and I love Alpharetta we have been there several times. We have our lake house in lake oconee and we will someday retire and move up there....
paul, that is great news about the house. Good things happen to good people and I know you have been building Karma for a long time. I am very excited for you brother!!!!!!
.....and very sad you will not be making the rally. Though it is understandable it is very unfortunate. It will not be the same without you. I promise we will tip one in your honor..
