Like the idea of meeting in Gainesville or even Ocala .. Take it from there Steinhatchee, Suwannee, Cedar Key ( all close ) Mt Dora , Palatka whatever.. ... The original post was Panhandle run .. I agree is a long way for the So FL group but if ever want to do it .. I'm in .. This includes whether just a couple of you want to run the Panhandle, or a group .. Being retired does have advantages ...

ok i am going to be blunt here. this ride is meant for whoever can make it and when we make. it is not meant to not to include everyone. everyone might not be able to make.
as for the south chapters how many rides have been done in your area, keys, alligator alley or us41 route? do you rally think the north or central guys can just make that on a day run? this ride is meant for anyone who can make. if its to the point that everyone needs to be include then the only place we will ever ride is in the center of this state. this panhandle ride is meant for everyone WHO CAN MAKE IT. i wish we all can make it to every ride, but due to the size of this state its just not possible.
so this "panhandle" ride is moving south more and more. how you would yo like it if a key run was planned and it ended up being in bradenton? sorry i need to express my feelings on this, so flame away. i love all you guys and gals of the forum. so dont take anything personal here. we ride and die as a crew forever.

No Flame... your point is well made. A Panhandle Ride does not include Central Florida. It means the Panhandle.

I have no problem heading to Panama City, even Pensacola. Its been years since I've been to either, and never by bike. I was stationed in Pensacola for a year or so, going to school there for the Navy.

I certainly didn't mean to start a ruckus by suggesting somewhere off the pan handle.

You all throw out some dates, and lets see who can commit.

[QUOTE=Thundermug;5930981] Cheryl (my wife) might come along If I rent a bigger bike. That is if Kay and Barbara would like to meet her...

However, my wife is a good little christian girl and is opposed to some language.

(Barbara is not Christian, so I can't say know how they would get along....and although
I do say ****, ****, and **** ***ker every once in awhile, it is not out of context.

If you get a globe of the earth...and look at Florida....Fort lauderdale, in perspective.....is pretty close to the panhandle. So I say the panhandle ride goes to East Lake in Kissimmee!
As for me? I am going to try to sell it to Barbara.......to ride with the bunch to wherever in the panhandle, stay for a night. Ride the next day towards Biluxi, Mississippi. I don't know if she would buy it....or be able to go that distance on the bike. Maybe we only make it to Alabama. (What the hell....she'll never go for it)

I agree with BDM. The big deal for me is to get to the panhandle that I have never rode in before. I'm up for the other rides too but this one I hope stays in the panhandle. I also look forward to seeing my old pal Paul again. I might just end up hanging back with him and catching up on old times.
