OK...so....this is not a ride for everyone. And the North West part of the state of Florida has been un-represented.
Most of us are in agreement that a ride should take place...maybe around the 28th of May. (which would be good for me because that is Barbaras birthday weekend.)
I have heard people mention Panama City..and the Dead Man's River place (Steinhatchee). Jay (stronghawk) and Hugh (fish head) live up that way (who else?). Chime in with some thoughts.
Can relate Phil ... My Sportster was that for a while hopefully got the bugs out of it now .. Last couple of weeks spent more time on the Jack than on the road .. Just installed new fork lowers and should have it road ready by tomorrow gotta get a Primary Cover Gasket for it..
If I had to recommend one particular town, it would be Apalachicola. It's got great history, location and restaurants. The old Gibson Inn is a natural meeting place with bar and large porch.
Area riding includes St. George Island, Cape San Blas and Mexico Beach. There is actually some hilly country north along the Apalachicola River.
Apalachicola bay is one of the last great bays in the world. 90% of the shell fish in Florida come from here. The local chef's prepare of the finest seafood anywhere.
I know the local chamber folks, give me a few days and I'll see what I can do with rates.
