I have a Garmin 760 that is currently plugged into the cig lighter. I would like to hard wire it but am still checking for the best way to do it.

I've been thinking about upgrading my GPS and I'm interested in your opinions.
My current unit is waterproof and mounted for left hand use, but it's getting harder and harder to get map updates.

Are these GPS's all waterproof, or do you have ones specific to cars and need to protect if it rains?

The siff in the Zumo and Standard is water resistance and vibration tolerance.

Mine is not waterproof but it holds up real well in a lot of rain.

I believe I got the wiring harness from Biketronics for the Sirius radio for Dianne's bike about 75.00 shipped 12 to 5 v Hooks to battery. Has long leads. They also have another one but it's not waterproof I have on the Roadglide in the fairing about 30.00

Good info fellas, I'll never need it though. I can find my way around the garage JUST fine
Good catch Kimbo! that's what makes a good tradesman, checking all aspects. Not just jumping into a quick fix.
