Default in support of 'extended warrantys'.

Started vacation last Friday. My bikes engine started making knocking/tapping noises a couple days before. Rode the bike to work Friday....a guy beside me at a traffic light looks at me, like "WTF is that NOISE!?".
I dropped the bike off at Destination Daytona Friday night ...since I had to
ride to Hollywood FL on Tuesday to do some gambling. Long story to short.....parts ordered, drive PT Cruiser to Hollywood, didn't win any poker money, lost what I did bet, won at the buffett...free drinks while gambling...back to hotel....go to sleep, repeat next day...PT Cruiser-it-home. Bike still not ready. Order more parts...so I picked up the bike today, Sunday....(seven days into my seven day vacation).
Parts replaced: breather assy, rear cylinder head, intake valve, exhaust valve, valve springs, intake manifold seal, exhaust seal, intake/exhaust valve lifters, inboard cam bearings,......along with the misc gaskets, o-rings seal kits, studs and who knows what that go along with it. Mech said there was more than a thousand dollars in parts. (plus my brake switch/compensator/wheel bearings since I bought the bike in April)
Rode down to Ponce Inlet, put 45 miles on that baby today! I still have over a year
and a half on my 2 year warranty!
I may not have the same bike come time for Arizona!!!!!!

Chuck glad you had that warranty. Hopefully everything will be fine now. It sucks that you are having so much trouble already.

Wow, that's a good thing you got that waranty . That sucks big time it's giving you all that trouble. One more time and it might qualify for the "lemon law". Sounds like the dealer is being great about it though. Hope that is the last of it.

Well a little confused if talking factory or Extended Warranty but can tell you just having my my SE Compensator done with the Extended warranty I purchased has already close to paying for itself the first 2 months Factory warranty expired and still got 46 months of extended warranty left .. If plan on keeping the Bike for a while and put a lot of mileage on to my eyes an extended warranty is a cheap ionvestment .. 1 or 2 at the most services and it's paid for itself .. Guarantee you Wade has got his moneys worth out of having it ..

Mine was paid for and then a substantial amount more after the first six months of extended warranty. The first day the extended warranty kicked in on mine I had to take it in for a fuel pump. Been in several times since.

I bought the bike used...with an extended 2 year warranty. It's a 2009 Ultra Classic.
I have never bought a brand new vehicle, but I guess I will be like like that Johnny Cash
song, and get it 'one piece at a time'!

I was going to lend you my truck take it in if need be. Glad you got her fixed. I think extended warranties are a crap shoot. Not sure of the odds but I think you made the right bet on that.
