We had some minor carb issues in north Florida. The first days ride went about 12 hours and we made it to Dawsonville GA. About 540 miles so we didn't make 59 miles an hour, but we did go a ways at about 30 miles an hour. Got into Maggie Valley about 1 pm today. We also followed us 19 all the way here so not the most direct or scenic route. Can't wait to hit the parkway tomorrow morning.
Thanks everyone for the recommendation the place is perfect and they gave us a 10% discount for being part of the crew. So if anyone comes up this way make sure you tell 'em your with the Florida Crew!
Only found at the finest establishments! Not my tag but a welcome site when we pulled up.
The place is all decked out for the fall season. Very cool, every hundred feet or so are a couple hay bales a pumpkin and scarecrow doll. Then bigger ones at the entrances of businesses done by the owners.
More later. The weathers beautiful wish you all were here!
Way to go! Any chance of being back in North Georgia on Saturday? GA Crew has their photo-day planned. Would love to have you join us. We will wind-up in Helen for lunch which is a great little Bavarian Village to spend the night if you're heading back towards Florida on Sunday. Just saying....

Have a Great Time.. Was Just up there and Stayed at the Holiday Sep 13th ..
Sorry Poorboy the photo things sounds fantastic but I will be back at work on Saturday. Jay, when I told the lady I was with the crew she laughed and seemed very pleased to be recommended by you guys.
View this morning was not to promising..
But we decided to head out for the parkway anyway and got about what we expected....
But I got the picture I have wanted my whole adult life, not the way I pictured it but what can ya do?
After that we took off to look for palmer chapel(google it, it looks beautiful) but when the GPS says 25 miles estimated drive time 1 hr 42 mins and gravel roads you should put 2 and 2 together....I didn't....
Fifteen mile of gravel roads 9 ft wide 8% grades and hairpin turns the damn GPS tells me to turn left off the mountain. So we never found the chapel but did do 3.5 hours of off road riding. We did find the Palmer house exhibit. Just a run down homestead and some old photos. Saw a bunch of wild turkeys 100's of suicidal chipmunks and got several "what are you doing here on that" looks from the 4 wheel trucks that had to stop to let us squeeze by. Tomorrow gatlinburg and the parkway from Cherokee to Maggie Valley. Then who knows where in the afternoon.
