Is this a open invite ?? Might be able to swing this trip but won't be able to confirm until mid April ...???? Have a trip Via US 27 to Chattanooga planned in mid March and will know schdl better after I return ?? Where are you leaving from ? Straight up 75 ??
Highway 19, a.k.a. - Highway 129, the VERY same road that the Dragon runs up in NC & TN. Running this stretch from Turner's Corner, heading north, will reveal where the head of the Dragon lives. Everyone rides the tail of the dragon, but this will show you how big that critter really is.
SR60 is a wonderful road that runs (the nicest) from Suches on up through to Morganton. Completely through a National Forest. Some of the twists on this road will let you read your license plate. Many, many local folks consider this their favorite road to ride. It is tree-covered cooler riding in the heat of the summer.
SR180 - famously named (locally) as Wolf Pen Gap Road. "Run with the wolf" as they say. lots-o-twists on this puppy, but sadly, also the need to avoid some poor road surfaces throughout.
SR52 is a beautiful way to cut across a swath of North Georgia. From Dahlonega over to Ellijay. This road is the biggest part of the Granite to Gold run. Big dividends are paid when riding SR52 west from Ellijay; this takes you up Fort Mountain. Very nice views that will test your Android's panorama picture app.
All of this can be ridden (more comfortably) over two days, not impossible (but highly unlikely) to do all of this in one day. Throwing handlebars around all day (when you're not use to it) will kick your butt. A few of the FL Crew here can probably describe this for those who have never done it.
It would be an honor to show my fellow FL Crew around up here.
Paul- is all of this local to you?
Unless a miracle at work happens, I'm out for these dates...but if I can swing some other days off, what are the odds of you being available to ride? Maybe I can drag Harvey along with me....he's usually willing!

Yes sir.... I believe one of the greatest aspects of the Florida Crew is the general theme of open invitations. And like most trip planning, things wiggle around a bit before firm plans/dates jell.

Thanks,

Hey Scott- Yes this is all local riding for me and I hardly ever get bored. Actually, there are many routes up here that don't get written about and are awesome little cuts through tiny towns that connect to some of the more famous routes. If I ever get bored I simply take these roads in the opposite direction. LOL
I am always willing to catch-up with FL Crew as they come through. I work M-F (basically 8am-5pm) but can take days off with reasonable notice. Every so often I am pulled out of town, or hit crunch time on projects that are harder to predict.
I have missed cHarley and Harvey a few times, also I missed Chuck & Barb (themensh) at lease once.
If I take a Friday or a Monday off from work I usually have a couple of days to ride with folks. For this planned trip for Crew folks, I am noodling on taking Mon & Tue since it appears folks won't get here until Sun/Mon.

If you want to go you just have to be on time when its time to leave Back in October we all met up at the first rest stop n. of Wildwood on I-75 and took the slab up until the Lake City area and jumped on 129 up into Ga. Meeting place seemed to work out well for everyone..
@ Poorboy ...Where are you located in N Geo ??? @ HammH Pat understand about on time as I think the only time we ever left on time is when I ride by myself...You being from Brandon and us from St Pete thought maybe 1st Rest stop outside Tampa. I will keep my eyes open on this thread and see if we can't make this trip ..

The US Post Office needs to see Alpharetta in my address. But if you're checking Google Maps, then find Free Home Georgia which is more accurate for Casa Poorboy.

If you guys make the trip we'll meet somewhere down this way. It's easier for some of the others coming from farther inland to get on 44 and come across the state. Hope you're able to join us....
