Anyone in south florida taken out their ignition switch from a later model touring bike? I have a 2012 Streetglide and my ignition won't lock. I turn it to lock and push down it doesn't stat down or if it does you can shake it loose and make it pop up. I'm sure there is something that I'm doing wrong or something I did wrong when I put it back together. Someone please help. I don't want to take it to the dealer and get raped for something that one of you probably know exactly what it is.
Watch a few of these you tube videos... it's easy to remove, easy to install and easy to screw it all up.
And you have to make a tool to reset the start position...
murph, i bowed down and took it to the dealer, the bike only has 1500 miles on it so without question the guy told me that he would order the lock and take care of it. he had a service guy look at it but i think i really f'ed up the lock some how that it wouldn't lock correctly there was some play in the mechanism that shouldnt be there.
He told me the lock would be here in a couple weeks and he would call me when its there. on the plus side i had lost my spare key and now the new lock comes with a key so i'm back to having a spare, he said they come with the factory key so everything would still match.
When we meet i owe you a nice cold beverage of your choice i appreciate you trying to help me out that night.

You should move a little bit north of you, and you don't have to wait for a week.
I'm meeting up with Tom to get that badlander seat off his hands at cafe27 around lunch time. I don't think I will be up early enough to head up there in time to meet up with you guys. I am down to ride one of these meets with you guys I have never really done any really long rides so I'm sure once spring and summer comes around there will be more rides coming up.
