Down here from S.C. and really enjoying the riding. Went down to Islamorada today to the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar and back from Pompano Beach. Wanting to also ride over towards Naples but some people that are familiar with the area say go 75. I was just wondering if that is the general consensus. Also I may need an expert that could fine tune a thundermax. Getting some pinging. Anyone know of someone in the Ft. Lauderdale area? By the way, you guys have great roads to ride.
Yes Bobby's V Twin on Glades Road in Boca Raton (about 25 miles N of Ft Laud) just installed my Thundermax. 561 271 8311 tell him Lauren and Dave recommended you.
I would go 41 over 75, but if you have the time I would go up to west palm beach and cross the state there. You will go just south of lake Okeechobee. There is a great tiki bar in Clewiston called Scotty's. That is how I would go. Enjoy the ride and put up rides if you plan ahead a day might find some company.

Thanks, I will definitely tell him you guys recommended him.
The last time I took US41 over to Naples in February there was still a lot of construction on the east end, but overall, it's a beautiful ride. There is a rest stop a little more than halfway with restrooms and local information. You can always take 41 over and I-75 back to Fort Lauderdale, or 80 back to West Palm Beach.
If you want to come back from Naples area via I-75, you can just get on I-75 at S.R. 84.
Alternatively, start out on 41 East, and turn left (north) at Highway 29. Also a nice ride with lots of Everglades scenery. However, there is no gas after the intersection of Hwy 41 and 29 until you get to the Indian Reservation half-way across I-75.
On the Northwest "corner" of I-75 and 29 is the Florida Panther sanctuary. However, there is a DEEP LOOSE GRAVEL driveway and parking lot. Not for the timid.
To go to West Palm Beach, you can stay on 29 northbound to Hwy 80 at the downtown crossroads of Labelle, FL, and then take 80 east to West Palm Beach. It follows the Caloosahatchee River to Lake Okeechobee. You'll travel through Clewiston where there are tiki bars on the Lake.
If I knew who tuned T-Maxes I'd chime in, but unfortunately, I don't. Enjoy your stay.
Thanks for all the help. My wife and I are gonna go tomorrow if anyone would like to lead the way it would make it that much more fun. Would like doing 41 but with another couple that knows the area.
