Update on Katie

Last evening Tom, Katie's husband, reported he had spent a great day with Katie. He feels so blessed to have her here. She had had a much better day. Got some good news on her pelvis. Fractures are in the 2 small bones in front and will heal on their own. She sat up in a chair for an hour. The hardware that was installed in her wrist will allow her to have the hard splint removed in 2 weeks. She has surgery scheduled on her jaw. It's gonna be rough. 10 weeks of food through a straw. At the same time 10 weeks in the neck brace. For the first time in 27 years yelling at him is gonna be a real challenge.

Tom said Kati's recovery seems to be progressing better than expected. She was taken out of ICU and is already doing some physical therapy. Tom's hoping she's back at home in a matter of days. He was headed out to Wally World to pick up a few goodies for her then a stop at DQ because she wants a Smoothie. She has talking about fried chicken and said her stomach thinks her throat has been cut. For lunch it was a nutrition shake and some watered down blueberry yogurt. Gonna be a looong 6 weeks.
