I never thought twice about wearing my chaps, until I joined this forum. I ride to work in dress pants which flop around. So I wear Chaps over them. Takes less than a minute to put them on, or take off. Always wear under 45°, or with dress pants. Easy to take off, at destination.
I have High quality, Elkskin Chaps, very soft. I see cheap, stiff Chaps at places like Fleet Farm, I would never wear. Get some good ones, then stay out of stupid Chaps threads.

LOL I was freezing my butt off when I first bought my bike and couldn't find leather pants so I got chaps instead. they work pretty good on the legs. I still think they are semi gay looking on a dude but man on a woman... mine have already saved me from a good case of road rash and I wear mine everyday day since I commute to work

For cold mornings they work. The boys freeze though! I like the over dress pants idea. What do you do for warm days? Just dress pants only? If I did that my pant legs would both be around my knees!

Default Let's talk about assless chaps

When you think about it, aren't all chaps "assless?" Are there "assed chaps?" Wouldn't those just be leather pants?

Do you have your mind absolutely set on chaps? First Gear makes a pair of water proof overpants with a removable thermal liner. Much better than any chaps you'll find.

If you just want to look the part then disregard.

If its so cold you need chaps, take the cage...

BTW, I do have a pair of the First Gear HT Overpants from my sport bike days. Nice and complete protection.
