no don't want to look the part I hate them. but to be warm, thought it's my only choice. like I said I wear my snowmobile pants now
The First Gear HT overpants kinda look like snow mobile pants, but they are absolutely incredible. They have removable armor and are extremely versatile. I have chaps stashed away somewhere, no need for them.
snowmobile pant will last for the first i inch of road. Riding jeans with Kevlar are mush better should you go down. If it to cold get heated gloves jacket liner and socks.

The pants I'm talking about are actually motorcycle pants, textile. But they look like something you would (and could) wear on a snow mobile.

we rode 2 weeks ago it was 6 degrees out when we left and 11 when we got home. I do have heated grips and jacket feet were fine
I have a set. The wife also has a set. We picked them up in 2013 from Jake Wilson. They are adjustable, you can trim the legs some, and you can usually cinch in the waist by the ties in the back. $100 isn't out of line, but shop around. Prices vary greatly. As for sizing, try a few sets on. Take a look at Farm and Fleet. I think they carry "Milwaukee Leathers".
I've worn mine maybe twice. I had to ride in cold weather when my car was in the shop. They're okay, but feel 'heavy' to walk around in. The wife hasn't needed to wear hers at all yet.
I have a few pairs of fleece lined jeans I like better. Chaps do cut the wind, but aren't insulated. Your snowmobile gear works just as well.
If you want chaps do not order them online. Find an Indy that sells them and try them on. Get the good "thick" leather the cheap thin ones are worthless. The pair I have are leather cord stitched so they are adjustable. You will pay for them but the money is worth it. IMO and I love them in the cold.

Great advice.
You'll definitely want to try on chaps before buying, and look for thick leather.
Look for a pair that zipper down when closed. A friend bought a pair that zipper up and won't stay closed.
