I used to be a waver. Now I'm wave free. Just seems bothersome to me.
Glad your riding but do I need to wave at you everytime you go by? I live on HWY 18 at the foot of the
Blue Ridge Parkway. People on here that know this area know how many bikes are here. Just seems foolish to me. Wife likes to wave if she's with me.
Every time I try to wave my bike slows down about 20 or 30 mph so I just ignore them and keep the throttle twisted. Those of you that think this has been discussed and cussed too much why did you respond? Every day there are new members here that haven't had the fun you've had discussing these important issues.
Intersting thing is that this particular issue causes the same type of emotional outbursts and strong feelings on metric forums also. Just seems like a hot button for alot of people.
I enjoy waving, so does the wife, and I think we are pretty good at it too.
We live in rural Arkansas and mostly drive country roads, where it is common for most to wave, on two or four wheels. I will respond to the wave of anyone, and wish them well as they share the road with me.
But then again, I may not be as cool as those who do not wave.
I wave to be friendly. a novel concept I know for some but still a good one especialy in the south. It is always nice to have somone positively acknowledge your existance even if it is as small as a wave.
Try it tough guys... you may find that a small friendly act might just help our society be more polite and others focused.
But.... to each his own.
