One sunny Sunday morning, I was tooling along on an empty state highway on my way to a local canyon when I spied an Ultra about 2 miles away on the opposite side headed my way. As it got closer, the rider leaned out and gave the low wave as if he was trying to drag his peace-sign on the ground. I waved back in my normal low wave also. As he passed, I saw that it was a state trooper.
