I wave unless unsafe to do so; doesn't matter to me what type/brand of bike you're on. In my area most riders return the wave.

Not near as much as threads about it. sometimes I wave, sometimes I don't. It depends on my mood.

I got a kick out of waving at oncomming bikers in sturgis. NObody waves there, there are just too many bikes. So I would ride past lines of bikes, near the center line and reach way out so nobody could miss it. Still nothing. Anyway, my wife said to quit trying, but I was enjoying making a mockery of it anyway. Usually eveyone waves to the point of it being annoying sometimes.

Just an edit: I always wave to other bikers, no matter what they're riding, even mopeds. Sometimes I toot the horn and wave to bicycles riding on the highway as encouragement.

The colored ones are places I've visited, my goal is to visit all of them. Others do the same thing, I thought it was a cool idea so I made a map and put it on my sig. Have you not seen that before?

Hey Zeus! Miz Roo wants ta know what the diff'rent colors mean. Are they different felonies? Is green for those states where ya smoke marahoochie, blue for speeding, red for B&E? Is white for the places where ya b'haved yerself, or has ya really and truly gone to Florida without visiting Mississippi?

Hey! Ya cain't drive to Florida without goin' thru Mississippi, Alabama, or Georgia. Didja fly to Florida and rent a bike?

Oh, yeah. We wave in Mississippi, too, but not with the hand that's holdin' the spit cup.

Mr Roosterboots,

How's it goin' eh? Well, I got the map from this site:
http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/index.html

Once you tell it where you've been it colors that state or province a preselected color. So unfortunately the colors don't mean a thing. We'll have to figure out a different way to show where my felonies were commited. haha!

Also, about Florida, I guess I didn't really think that I should only put the places where I've been on the bike. Those are all the states I've been to in any way. Flying, RV'ing, riding, what ever.

My wife and I both love to travel, we've been all over the world (me more than her, we've only been married 8 yrs). A lot of those places we visited with the travel trailer. Alaska was a cruise. Texas, NY, Mas, business trips. etc etc.

Anyway, we're planning a big trip next summer, probably on the bike. Travelling down from western Canada all the way to Key West. I was thinking I could fill in all those white states, except for the new england ones next summer. Including MISSISSIPPI!! Wouldn't miss it for the world, knowing fine people like yourselves are from there!

Anyway, that's my story...

OK as not to hi-jack this fine thread I'm waving at Zeus for his responses on the maps...

Might be the first time I have payed attention with curiosity though. I think its pretty cool and I agree that just having it as a place you have been is cool. It would take a loooong time, for most, if its just where you have ridden your bike.

Thats kind of fun... Its amazing to me that once I saw how to select where you have been how many places I have actually been to.

I travel a lot for work.
I go through areas where everybody waves, even at cars!

I noticed that it does make me feel better when someone acts nice to me,......

However, I'm still trying to figure out why some wave with only one finger.
Likely just too tired to raise the other fingers. Yeah, that's prolly it. LOL

I wave at just about everyone I see on two wheels unless my current riding condition is less than safe. I'll wave at scooters too. Heheh!
