I flew minr that way on inauguration day and will not apologize. I also served in the military for five years.

As for wearing the Marine stuff all I have to say is, try just one hitch and your question will be answered.
Wecroft, i understand what an upside down flag means, I did nto and obviously now know that that's not what this particular upside down flag was representing. i'm all abuot displaying it properly but not just because he's upset about life!!

When did the inverted flag become a sign of surrender? I thought white flags were for that.

Apparently nobody here has actually read the flag code or this guy's post#21. The code doesn't require any qualifiers as to what an individual citizen can count as distress.

P.S. I think the OPs question about marines and their tee shirts has to be the absolutly dumbest thread ever started on this forum. JMO

I see another golden opportunity to keep my mouth shut.

Think I'll heed my own advice.

You know Wex I agree that the country is in distress right now, but as a vet I disagree with your choice of protest, good intention or not. However, as a vet I am also willing to fight to the death to protect your right to express yourself.

All of us need to remember that free speech is just that, the right to express however you feel. ( Yes short of yelling fire in a theater......) The fact that we all can have different opinions is one of the great things about this country.

I spent 20 years active duty in the Marines, 2 years as a Drill Instructor. Retired in 1999 as a 1stSgt. Marines are proud of who they are and what they have done. I tell you this I travel alot for my job now and am always in the airport. Army, Navy, AirForce personell in uniform will walk by each other and not say anything to each other. But I tell you this, have 2 Marines in uniform, and they could be in different terminals, somehow, someway those 2 Marines will meet up, probably in the bar, and instantly become best friends. "The change is forever."

Wex, you need to go hang out in the political forum. You also need to find political asylum in some other country, like China maybe.

If nothing else, you managed to **** off an MC (*). If it bothers you so much, try pulling it off of them. I would hang around and watch, but I have to go now to stand in a flag line with the PGR. You got a lot to learn about respect.

the avatar stays. the country is in distress but you can't see it. I can't believe I wasted this much time on you.
Fly the flag how ever you want. Those of us that have served did so so that you can have your freedom. There are no laws governing how the flag should be flown or treated. The code is just a guideline.

That being said, I would greatly appreciate it if you changed your avatar out of respect for the men and women who have served or are currently serving. Thanks.
