You're right KR. We as born-here Americans sometimes take this citizenship thing too lightly. When I taught school I had a large number of Bosnian kids come through my room. Quite a few of their parents became citizens of the US. That was a huge decision for those people. It's really hard to describe the joy and pride they exhibited when they got their U.S. citizenship.

Not trying to be an a$$, but you posted it. Although it is part of the US Code, it has not been enacted as positive law by congress and therefore is not a law. So, YOU ARE WRONG!!!!

No worries though. It should be law. Just sayin...

And lonesome wex.....thanks for changing your avatar. I appreciate it.

This whole discussion is absurd.

Wex has the right to fly his flag upside down if he feels the need. He feels the country is in dire straits with the economy because he has to go see a bankruptcy lawyer.

I think the country is in a down cycle, but certainly not in dire straits. We have gone through worse, and we will emerge from this better for it. But I still defend his right to fly the flag as he sees fit. It's not like he is wiping his *** with it.

I also believe that a person who served in any branch has the right to wear a shirt bragging about it, fly a flag bragging about it, or shout from their rooftops how proud they are to have served. Whatever.

I served 6 1/2 years active army, but I dont feel the need to brag about it. If a Marine feels good by wearing a marine shirt, good for him and he should do it.

I wear a WVU shirt because I am proud to be an alumnus of the university. If a Marine feels the same because they served as a Marine, godspeed to 'em man.

Go back to law school. The US Code is the laws of the land. The code is law but was enacted without provisions for punishment. Further, if it were not law, why would the Supreme Court have ruled on several cases concerning the code. They decide only on laws.

I stand corrected. I was given the wrong info and I apologize. Thanks for the clarification.

The good thing about this country is that we can have this debate and all be riders together.
