Default headlight

Not sure if I am on the right forum but I am having problems with my 1998 ultra classic 95th anniversary model. When I start the bike the high beam light comes on(on the dash) but I do not have the high beam light on. When I switch the button back and forth to low beam-high beam nothing happens. The headlight is on but real dim. Then after about 2-3 min of just sitting there deciding if I should take off or not the headlight comes on and the high beam light goes out and I never had the high beam on to begin with. Any suggestions????

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere, you'll need to do, or get someone to do continuity and voltage drop checks for you if you don't see anything obviosly rubbed raw inside the fairing and the switch housing. Start with the switch housing and see if something got pinched.
