In light of this stern warning I think it would behoove us all to become properly acquainted with our friend the Jiffy-Stand.
I don't think there's anything in the manual that isn't prefaced with the same warning.

One thing I do like about Harley's 'Jiffy Stand' is that it doesn't come with an engine cut-off switch like all metrics do....one less switch and electrical circuit to malfunction. And with a Harley (at least my Super Glide anyway) the jiffy stand won't come up or go down without a pretty healthy lean to the right.....and it seems very well locked in place when the bike's weight is leaning on it.

Isn't that the way life is! Try and read anything a lawyer writes and tell us all about what he meant.

It is hard to read but the funny thing is always the back story of some not so bright person who did something like put a fork in a light socket and then saying well they didn't tell me not too.

Decades ago a friend had a Ducati scrambler with a kick stand that folded forward and the spring was designed too weak. He'd go over a jump, land, and the inertia would let the stand flop down some, and he did some really cool endo full-twist pirouettes.

Got to say it - the owners manual terminology is usually g - a - y . um, Village people oriented. Kick stand, saddle bags, etc. are all well accepted terms. Being different just to be different is - - - uh, you know!
