Sounds like a Monday morning armchair quarterback. If you think you should not have done it then you should listen to your gut. If someone else thinks it well then that their issue not yours.
Good idea.
maybe he thought you'd stick your *** out into the oncoming traffic while airing up the tire????
sounds ingenious, to me.
yeah... brothers idea... he can come up with a good one now & then...
actually the dude was making some noise about blow-outs, rotting inner tubes, & weak rubber on my tires, all kinds of noise about wrecking 'cuz of my flat tire...
.... but for future reference if you have a pig tail installed for a battery ttender get a nother pig tail t omate with it and wire the compressor to the pig tai lso you can just plug it in to the tender pig tail,...
yeah... I was thinking the same thing as I'm holding that positive lead to the solenoid & burning the side of my hand on the exhaust (TANSTAAFL)
If I was going 20+ miles at interstate speeds, I might have done something different, but your idea was awesome! Would have done it myself if I would have thought of it

So to get it across town I took a 200 psi micro compressor...an el cheap-o my ma had & was gonna throw away cuz the cigarette lighter plug adapter was broken... that had alligator clips on the pos & neg. So I filled the tire up by clipping the negative to the foot peg & touch the back of the solenoid.... count to 200 tire is filled. 7 miles in medium traffic, 3 stops to check & refill tire, & next thing you know, robert is your mother's brother and I make it to the shop. So here I am congratulating myself that I didn't have to pay $$$$ to trailer my bike when a co-worker about has a conniption! so... just exactly how dangerous was my little stunt, & would any of you do it?
I've done worse & probably will again. Sounds like ya had it under control.
Sometimes ya just gotta take a chance. Keep yer wits about you, and all should go well. Sounds like you did something your coworker lacked the nerve to try. It aint an easy life that makes livin worth while, it's livin life that makes easy come your way...
