What are you wearing this fall? Why are you wearing it? I get cold easy and I'm fashion-sensitive in reverse (meaning: i don't want to look like a biker, or a biker, or even a biker. I want something that works and can be worn anywhere. advertisements are not allowed). Pix welcome.
Plain old leather jacket if you want something that can be worn anywhere. I wear my Tourmaster Intake Air with the thermal liner installed if it is chilly ... but it is not a wear "out" kind of jacket.
Just last weekend I bought a very nice bomber leather jacket at Wilson's Leather in Loveland. Regular price was $500 which I am sure they never charged, Wilson's doesn't have stores in mall's anymore, just at outlet places (at least here in Colorado). It was on sale for $200 and I had a 25% off coupon which they took, the place was being run by a couple of high school aged kids I'd bet if the manager was there I'd not gotten the extra 25% off.
nothing like wearing my 20+yr old Brooks leather jacket on a cool day. When the sun pops out it warms up like a heating pad on my back and feels sooo good. Haven't found a textile jacket that will do that yet, although when I travel, I use my textile jak that converts to mesh w/a few zippers. Anyone else notice how people treat you based on what you're wearing at the time. If I'm wearing my textile people assume I'm a RUB, if I've got the old brooks on I'm not. Happened alot this summer as it was the first time I've had a textile jacket. Got alot of heat about the textile from a few old school friends while in Sturgis, until I let one try mine for a day. Don't think he's gonna get one but at least he knows why I've got one for touring now.
Bought the wife and myself the Tour Master Air 2 system of jacket, pant, weatherproof liner, and thermal liner. And, yes, both the jacket and pant comes with the removable CE2 armor pieces.
We got 'em at a good price and covers virtually all riding conditions: the south Texas heat, rain, and the 20 minutes or so of Winter that we normally get some time in January.
We paid around $600 for both complete sets from a huge motorcycle gear supplier who, unfortunately, not a forum vendor or I'd mention them here. Feel free to PM me and I'll send you the links.

not sure how you feel about black leather if it's too "biker" but this schott racer jacket is a jacket made for riding but you can also wear around no problem, they look really good i've seen them in person and they don't appear "biker dude" at all.
i got the classic 118 because i just love it, but i can understand the style isn't for everyone. for me classic american bike deserves a classic american jacket, not a euro-trash racer jacket (i do like the look of the racer jackets i'm just busting *****)...
