Having ridden a few Hondas in the past, I can agree with you that Goldwings are, in fact, ugly. I think I agree with the previous poster's comment about being disgusted with the actual riders of the bikes, not just the bikes...guilty by association? ha ha
One thing that bugs me to death is the BMW riders and their bike-matching riding suits. It's just not my thing, but oh well, to each his own...And I can say this because I'm a BMW rider myself.
At least the folks that irritate us are riding a motorcycle, right? Don't even get me started on the Can-Am "snowmobile on wheels!"
Is that you in the picture with the matching bike, riding gear, and T-bag?
I've met more jerks, clowns, and idiots who couldn't ride worth a hoot and thought they were hot stuff on Harleys than any other brand out there.
I think GWs are really neat looking bikes. If I had the money and garage space, I would love to have one. I think the fact that they are whisper quiet is pretty cool too.
I'm only 28 and would love to have a goldwing ( I don't know of any other HUGE bike that will pull the front wheel for you simply accelerating onto an on ramp) for cross country trips and a beamer gs-55 (is it still a beamer with only 2 wheels?) for the alcan highway or some dessert riding.
Of course I can handle it on my harley, but let's be realistic it would be much easier and more comfortable with a motorcycle made for the "terrain". Now if I could only come up with the money.
Two wheels ..... wind in your face......what more could one want??? ...... more motorcycles
Edited to add:
If it wasn't for a near fatal accident on a 1000cc rocket at 17 I would also like to have a duccatti sport bike, but I have this issue with having to know when the throttle quits making the motorcycle quit accelerating.
The american made thing is pretty much out the window since half the parts on our harleys are japanese and I am not rich enough to support our economy with ignorant financial decisions. I do drive a 73 chevy pickup but the OL drives the family toyota which is absolutely incredible when compared to the domestics.
Sounds more like someone is a little name brand conscious or maybe even jealous than hate???

I'll never be jealous of a goldwing. Just sick of thos GW riders telling us Harley folks how much better their rides are. I don't give a ****. Until those idiots ride an HD they won't understand.
I hate Goldwings for two reasons, first because they pass me by at least 15 mph when I'm cursing along at my comfortable 75mph. To add insult to injury on this, I never hear them coming up from behind.
Second, they have no sub-culture for their riders to try and copy. They don't wear pirate outfits or power ranger suits. I just don't know what to make of them. Are they tough guys or racing dudes or what?
Kidding aside, having never actualy rode one, I can't comment on their ride appeal, but as far as looks go, if you've seen one Wing, you've pretty much seen them all.
I am a delusional ***** for sure since I have both! loti
One point though, I have had the wing for a few years and don't own one single piece of Honda propaganda/apperal.
I have owned the sporty for a few months and have three of the most expensive tee shirts known to man.
And ditto on one wing looking like another. There is not much room for improvement.
It dont matter to me what ya ride but when it comes down to it if I deside to add a trike to my garage it will be a GW Trike(allready put the idea into wifes head)...Dollar for Dollar your getting twice the trike thats tried a true.I feel HD has a way to go on thier trikes...

You know that's not true. That's like saying all Electra Glides look alike. There are lots of add-ons available for Gold Wings and, judging by the photo of your bike, you already know that. I rode Gold Wings for 20 years and I can state from experience that you can personalize Gold Wings with chrome, lights, and seats just as much as you can personalize an Electra Glide. You can even swap out the exhaust system if you like but most of the riders I know are happy with the sound and performance of the stock bike.
I do know that. I guess I was trying to be funny and or get a rise out of someone. This is the bs thread you know?
Yet, I have not seen a chopped wing with a springer 8 feet long! ha ha ha
