Once in a while life just smiles on you and I had one of those days today .
I've been looking for a 3 in 1 home shop mill/drill lathe combo machine for a long while with no luck I'm always behind the reseller guys for some reason it's like they are there when the ad's posted .
I answered an ad a couple days go on a nice rig and got the call to come see it this morning guy said a few others were hot on it too . I told him on the phone what I wanted it for we talked shop a bit and off I go for an 1hr drive not holding my breath it would still be there .
I pull up and there 3 guys having a real cat & dog back and forth , found the owner gave my name and this Persian sob shoulders in front and almost shouts at the guy " I give you $400 now , I here first is mine " . Listed price was $1400 with a load of extra's and nice bench , the onwer looks at me says " you want this for yourself not to sell right ? Give me $400 it's yours " looking straight at the pushy ***** playing the lo ball game . Mid east boys got all upset over that but made my day .
Got a 2 yr old machine that lists for $2000 and at least that much in extra tooling , fixtures and needed tools for machining for $400 .
Just got an email from the guy he found some other stuff he overlooked and needed my address so he can send it all to me . Think I'm going to send the guy something for all this out of the blue I'm almost feeling guilty . But sweet jesus it's nice to win one once in a while .
