Cliff's Notes: What do you wear over "good clothes" on the bike?
OK, I'll admit it. I wear suits to work. So, take me out and shoot me.
But I want to start taking the bagger to the office instead of my truck. I've got 15 minutes of good country riding and another 15 minutes of "scare the crap out of ya" city riding before I get to the office.
Changing from riding boots to dress shoes is no issue and I have a good summer weight mess riding jacket for the top half. But the pants and the lower legs are a problem. Getting decorated by a "road kill" bug at 65 mph is NOT a souvenir that I want to show to my staff.
What can you wear that still protects you on the bike without making you look like you've been sleeping in your clothes when you get to the office?
Well here in the cold north I ride to work with my suit pants and chaps over those to keep em clean and keep the pant leg from riding up the leg in the wind. Not to mention to keep warm too. However seeing as your form Texas and probably do not have too much snow to worry about I would suggest a change of cloths once you get the office. Roll your suit pants up and it will reduce the number of wrinkles you will get. If they get bad just have your pants dry cleaned and/or ironed and keep them at the office. JMO
Areostich makes a step into Roadcrafter suit that takes about twenty seconds to get on and off. I wear it to work and my work clothes are fresh. They look a little dorky - but what the hell. I picked mine up on eBay for 1/2 the cost. Below is a shot of me wearing it that someone took on a supermoto ride.
I know this might sound strange, but check out some of the foul weather gear yacht racers wear. They have some real light weight breathable fabric pants with elastic around the waist and ankles. The one's they make for racing in tropical waters. They'll slip on and off easy, shouldn't get too hot, and keep the road kill off your dress pants.....(just don't get them too close to your pipes).....

I like Aerostich stuff but trying to get a fit mail-order is difficult and most of their suits are pretty warm. I have a similar suit from Olympia Motosports, with better ventilation. But it is too heavy for TX, I'd think. Olympia has a Stealth one piee suit that is mesh.
I wear Olympia AirGlide pants most of the year. They come with a waterproof liner. There are probably similar pants available from the OP's jacket maker.
I crashed into I95 at 40mph an they protected me well.
If it's really hot and humid I take my dress pants off and put them on at work.

My suit is nice for cold rides - and my stich has vents that open so it's not that bad when it warms up. I do like all the padding/protection that's inside them - but I don't wear it on every ride.
