So I had the home owners association called on me for my pipes being too loud. Back home, if you have a problem with your neighbor, you go knock on the door and tell them how you feel. Sometimes it gets resolved and sometimes you get punched in the mouth (depending on how you approach). Really? The home owners association? Luckily all they told me was; and get this; TRY TO KEEP IT DOWN hahahaha....
Anyway, so this morning, I get off work at 0700hrs. In my neighborhood they have these massive speed bumps but they are separated in the middle and dont go all the way to the sidewalk. Well my fatboy is lowered and dont go over speed bumps if i dont have to, so at approx 5 mph (idling; its the posted speedlimit) I go between the bumps or to the outside. MY NEIGHBOR just happens to be walking her dog and screams at me, "THEY ARE CALLED SPEED BUMPS FOR A REASON, AND THEY DONT SERVE ANY PURPOSE IF YOU JUST GO AROUND THEM!!!"
i replied, "MAYBE THEY SHOULD TAKE THEM OUT THEN!" and cruised home.
Maybe I should call the home owners association and tell them she was in the street yelling at 0700? haha.... I hate my stuck up *** neighbors...
Half the guys in my sub division have harleys in the garage with boxes and stuff stacked up on them. Guess I am the a$$hole because mine isnt just for show, it is how I get around.
Complain to the HOA the speed bumps are too high & they are damaging your personal property every time you cross them . Guy did that not far from here and they went in and flattened them way down because of it , Tit for tat games can be played by both parties when they make it personal .
The bitchy neighbor ? complain she isn't cleaning up the dog **** after her sweet little pooch , most HOA's nut up on that .

A few years ago my roommate and I had the HOA called on us because we had an American flag in our window, which was an unapproved window covering. We didn't take it down, and dared them to. A month later the local paper does a cover story on us growing up together, becoming friends in Iraq and then becoming rommates when we got back. The next day we got a proclaimation from the HOA saying how proud they were to have us as neighbors, and as a show of thanks, they were going to drop the complaint about our flag (which was the backdrop for our picture on the cover of the paper). Toolbags.
Hoa's are a pita, they were pissed at me because I bought this house when I moved out of the country for my daughter to live in while attending college. They had a few parties and broke the parking on the street rule. Sent all kind of nasty grams to the house. I moved back 1.5 years later. To keep from parking on their precious street I moved our cars to the pool parking lot so the 18 wheelers could unload. Pool was closed for winter and the azzhats put a ticket on my cars stating they would be towed if I parked there again. I tool all the letters and tickets to the next HOA meeting and was very vocal about what I considered harassment. Informed them if they ever laid another finger on my cars they would be dealt with one on one and if they sent me any more harassing letters they would have to raise the HOA fees to cover their legal expenses. I have never heard another word from those busybodies.
I HATE the HOA's in Vegas. I decided to buy a home in a neighborhood without one and since the economy took a dump of course now I have every loser in the state living near me; my neighborhood has turned into a rental haven. On the other hand; the HOA's in our area are so out of control that they want to fine you for everything you do... you can not win. As the OP stated: If you have an issue with something, go knock on the door and take care of it. It's like living in elementary school today!
