Don't need a patch to ride with friends. Don't need a 3pp to ride with friends either. Don't need a patch or 3pp to do charity work. But I say do what you want. Get your art work done and get it on. Who cares what others think. If you have pride in what you do and want to show it then that is your choice.
The real sad thing is that dominate clubs might not like the idea of you having artwork on your backs and they really won't like the idea of you stating were you are from by putting a bottom patch (rocker) that has your state of origin on it.
I've been riding Harley's off and on for the past 10 years and recently my brother in law and I have decided that we would like to start our own MC. We're not 1%'s we don't try to be bad *** law breakers but we do love to ride and we love the idea of starting a MC that does charity events and promotes motorcycles. We came up with our logo and want to make our vests and jackets a 3PP. Our colors are not going to be similar to any of the local or notorious MCs but I'm worried we might catch some flack from some of the 1% outlaw clubs out there. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
F**k It!
Do what you want. Who knows, you may become the dominant club and rule the Starbucks.
You could buy a uniform from the army /navy store and some surplus medals and march in the 4th of july parade too. You need to earn the right to wear a 3pp its not a free country and you cant wear what you want.
And this will appease the 1% club that is 2 hours away? Is there a line of delineation for clubs in NV and UT? Right. Unless you want to go ask permission to form the club and have the 3PP. Then you will pay up and get called out to support. Like others on this thread have stated: Stick with the 1 pc patch with no "MC" on it.

He's not talking about pretending to be a member of an existing club. He is talking about creating his own club.
Because some delinquents with superiority complexes will get butt hurt if they see a 3pp they haven't sanctioned is a ridiculous reason to not form your own club.
It is possible to do. Best advice is to contact someone that is currently in an established MC and get some mentorship. They can tell you if there is a Confederation/Collation of Clubs in your area. To do it properly you will need to establish a relationship with the dominate MC or COC. Patch design and color are taken very personal by MCs and some MCs have been known to travel great distance to pull colors. If you just throw some patches on with a MC Cube and rockers you will be opening yourself up for a challenge.
Now on to the reason why a MC? Being in an MC isn’t just about riding, it is about brotherhood that sometimes is stronger than blood. What is mine, is my Brothers also. A Brother needs something, we will stand up and provide, read that however you want.
Good luck with your quest.

It is what it is. Just because you got Gold stars in Kindergarten, violent people out there, aren't going to give you a pass. If you don't want to get burned, don't play with fire. I live in WI, and you get used to most people being decent. But there are people that will kill you just for looking at them funny. I am not talking about MC's in particular. Just in general.
OP After a brief read (of http://www.rcvsmc.net/), it appears you want a Riding club, and not a Motorcycle club. Why don't you learn the rules for that and follow them? Sometimes life isn't fair, but it's easier when you follow established protocols. I have no interest in riding with others, so I am not going to read all that stuff, but if you want to ride with buddys, do your homework.

Totally agree. Sounds to me like wearing a 3PP is going to hurt the feelings of several people on this forum, but that's about it. They feel threatened, plain and simple. And we're supposed to respect them? What a laugh.
