So lemme get this straight. You want to block traffic that have a green light so your buddies can run the red?

Here's my viewpoint. If it's an emergency vehicle, or if a cop is directing traffic, or even if there was an accident and a civilian were directing traffic, I'll naturally obey.

But some dumbass parks his bike in the way thinking I'm going to miss the green so a bunch of other dumasses can run a red, not going to happen. I'll go around him. The guy running the red better be alert, he may just end up t-boning a full size 3/4 ton pickup.

ps. I'm not being an a-hole. The cycles of lights are engineered very carefully to maximize traffic flow. If you arbitrarily block a cycle the queue will grow, effecting everyone waiting and depending on the size of the queue could effect intersections further up the queue as well. So I would do my small part in keeping the flow of traffic moving.

From the viewpoint of the biking couple, romantic. From the viewpoint of the 4 wheelers, probably intimidating. But Gigawitz' "justification" is antidemocratic and downright tyrannical.

Exactly! Bikes have no more rights to any intersection than all the other vehicles using them.... UNLESS it is a person or entity that has the LEGAL authority to block that intersection.

If a bike can block it, then so can a car, so can a convoy of trucks, so can little ole blue haired ladies, etc. Doesn't matter if I personally care or not, it's not right and it's not legal.

Well I mean that's the obvious cop answer, but they never give escorts to any rides around here so they never care if traffic gets blocked.

Well yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense. Pull in front of an oncoming bike so the traffic que doesn't get messed up.
Do that to just about any group of bikes and you can count on a beat down that would stop traffic for longer than a few minutes, especially yours.
