I posted this in the Sportster forum realizing later that it was better to post here [couldn't figure out how to delete my thread].
Anyway when it comes to the sacred Brotherhood of Motorcyclist hand wave, are you the initiator or the "I only wave if wave'd to but don't wave first" kind of person?
Oh Geez, not this again...OP do a search you will find thousands of useless posts on this topic.
And you are correct sir! There are thousands of useless posts on this topic and that is exactly why one more couldn't hurt! Quite possibly, this could be THE thread that finally shines the light on "the wave" and enlightens us all to the appropriate procedures to follow as we proceed thru the oncoming season. There are so many "opinions" on what is proceedurally correct that I for one would like to know without any uncertainty what is the standand for the formal wave as I proceed about and among my fellow bikers. As I search thru these postings I will continue to evaluate everyones words of wisdom and expand upon my base of knowledge as to what I have been doing that is appropriate or not. Rather than reply back with a "Geez, not this again" you should be commending a fellow biker as he searches for the truth. We are a brotherhood and need to learn from each other. Anything less than perfection, even in a wave, should be evaluated so that mistakes are not repeated indefinately.

I did a search on "wave" and didn't find a thread in the first page. Wouldn't it have been more logical for you to just not respond than to respond to a thread you find useless?

well put Jeffery. I am in the latter category, return the wave guy. I will return a wave at anyone regardless of their mode or style of transportation. I will occasionally initiate a nod or wave to someone in cool old muscle car though. I take no offense if a rider does not wave at me. I wish it wasn't raining, otherwise I would go take a poll right now and get back to you on percentages this evening.
