I'm not saying I never did it, or saw it being done. What I am saying is people who do/did it, myself included, are goofy.

As soon as I can't ride during the day in a T-shirt or light windbreaker. It ain't fun to be cold. And, if riding ain't fun, what's the pernt? I ain't got nuttin' to prove.

I just suck it up and wait for the decent days. Do go South now for a few months when it's really cold, so it does set..what the maintenance charger is for.

Since it rarely snows here, when it's 40° or lower, it's just not fun to me no matter what I have on.
Wearing jeans, chaps, long johns and sweat pants is just too much. And about the same for above my waist...just shirts.

Ridden around so far without too many problems. Coldest has been maybe 40 or 45 degrees here. I wasn't prepared for that at first, but I've got decent gloves and a face mask for it now. Not to mention a scarf and a sweatshirt, plus jacket over that. Honestly, once you're comfortable it's still a lot of fun riding!

40-45F for me too, colder than that my freak'in knees quit working properly. But I never really put the bike away. Last year I moved it to the barn because I was painting in the garage, snow 6-8in, and drifted about 4ft in front of the barn door. So the bike sat for a bit after that.

P.S. Commander II tires suck in the snow! Got stuck in the yard

Its not the cold that bothers me, its salt, ice and snow. I did a 100 mile ride in 37 degree weather on Saturday....oh, it was raining too. I usually put it away when snow is coming and salt is down. I also need to get in the woods during deer season so I kind of change my priorities in the fall.

Running 50wt oil shuts me down when temps get into low 40's. Years ago tried riding year round what a joke in a snowstorm. Even worse was the patches of black ice in a turn.

I rode around albany for awhile last night(i got to college there), it was 28 degrees and i dont have a face mask or anything. I couldnt feel my face for 2 hours. I think once i get something for my face I can ride all winter unless it snows or theres salt on the ground.
