A nod when riding in the city and a wave in the country

I don't waive at other drivers when I'm in my truck or waive at other people walking down the street so waiving at other motorcyclists doesn't make much sense either. Yet, I sometimes do it if road conditions are safe. But I've never understood this mentality of a big riding brotherhood club with motorcyclists.

After reading this tread and the types of waves, reasons to and not to wave, I have decided to modify my times and how I will wave. When using my walker I will not wave. I tried that once and fell on my **s. When in a bar and someone says something that I did not quite understand I will not wave to the guy so he could repeat it, the last time I did that I bought a round for the entire establishment because he was asking who buys the next round. The types of waves we see while riding vary as much as the weather and the bikes on the road, some can not even be considered a wave but a rider giving a traffic signal from the days when turn signals were not on vehicles, (is he slowing down, turning left, right, stopping?). Henchforth, my waves will always be given to females, old folks on their porches in the country rocking away, all children with a big smile as I pass by them and to Officer Friendly. I notice Officer Friendly doesn't like to smile nor wave back. I need to work on him. As far as other Bikers of the Brotherhood, my wave will be there and so as to not be questioned if it was a wave or not, it will be left arm outstretched reaching for the sky, sort of a biker salute, and held in the position for a few seconds....upcoming curves may modify time off of the bars.

I found myself not waving another rider while taking a curve and didn't feel comfortable letting go of bars. Hope he didn't think I was being rude but safety first.........

So, that was you! I had a hard time getting to sleep that night wondering why, why you did not wave back!

Hummm. It's been a while since I saw Easyrider, but didn't that stunt of flippin' off a bunch of red neck retards result in a shotgun blast to his face???

Default Biker wave

Has this happened to anyone else cause its kinda funny to me. You are Riding your bike down a dark road at night and you see a headlight approaching, so you throw down your hand to do a wave and realize it is just a car with one headlight out. Happens to me a lot

Personally, I forego initiating waving at night for various reasons.
