Whenever I see another post about "the wave" I usually pass it by. Then for some reason I'll go back & open it all the time thinking "here we go again, another noob asking how to or why we wave". I also usually shy away from long posts like this.
Well obviously this time it was quite different. I'm glad I read it & I must admit I think I have a whole new understanding about waving.
I always wave. I also know some guys just don't. Things sure have changed since the 70's/80's. I used to ride a sport bike back then. If you waved at a guy on a Harley you got "the finger" back in return.
When I'm out riding and I stop somewhere like a gas station and see other guys on bikes I'll walk over and say hi. I can usually tell within the first minute if I want to BS for a short time or cut the conversation short and move on. Some people seem to enjoy going through life being miserable ******. I have no time for those people in my life. I wouldn't expect those type of people to be waving to anyone.
Thanks for sharing that post JCrawford. I can really appreciate what the author was trying to say, and feel like the same kind of person that he was talking about. I am a Waver, and tell my wife she had better wave when she is on back of the scoot or else
