I almost always wave, but once in a while, I've caught myself way in to the ride, and then see the other guys wave as we passed, sorry man, my bad.

That story reminded me of being a kid on the back of my Dad's bike. Sometimes my sister and I would both ride with him, which I can only imagine the reaction that would get these days, but that's another subject.

Someone once told me that they're especially careful in traffic around bikes because bike riders stick together because they all wave to each other. She said she didn't want to end up surrounded by a bunck of angry bikers all of a sudden.

It might be wrong, but I didn't want to change her mind. This was around ten years ago. I don't know if she's lost that "respect", but I hope she hasn't.

My late grandfather [he hated motorcycles] once told me the guys wave at each other cause them "hurlys" are constantly broke down and they wave to each other as a way to show there bikes are running ok.

I don't expect a wave back. I'm enjoying the ride, and expecting the others are too, after all we are less than 5% of traffic. 95% don't know what they're missing.

I've been thinking about the wave, at this time in my life I think it might be a spastic movement on my left arm. lol
