Default Motorcycle redlight laws

Pennsylvania finally made a law allowing motorcycles to go through a red light when the bike doesn't trip the sensor. A blessing to all of us who have waited patiently late at night for 5 minutes for a light to change because the sensor was not tripped by the bike. Read my article here http://fairlielaw.net/new-law-allows...ff-red-lights/ and tell your legislators to follow suit.

Wow, I'm gone as soon as it's safe in all directions, provided they're ain't no camera's.

It's called "common sense"

I got a ticket for going left through a stubborn redlight at around 2 am with empty streets. I went to court but met up with an angry old judge who I think hated motorcycles and liked to make his courtroom laugh at the expense of those he had in front of him. I tried but it was as if he was hearing voices in his head not what I was saying. $50 fine. The cop who pulled me apologized to me after court so I got that at least.

It is now legal here to go left when the light wont change. When I do it now it wont surprise me if I get pulled over anyway by an ignorant cop.

Same here.
We're supposed to wait at least one cycle of lights, but I travel through the same intersection, so I just go cuz I know the pattern. I've tried to get in touch with CDOT to fix it, but no response.

Here in SC the new law states you must come to a complete stop, wait at least 120 seconds, after that you can treat the redlight as a stop sign and proceed carefully. I don't count. I just wait a little, look around then I go.

IN has had it this yr now. Been rare that Ive had to run a red light. I'm kinda fuzzy in 1 area though. Say you pull up to a 4 way light, there is a car at light in opposing traffic, yet it seems like light is not changing. Do you still run it after waiting the required by law time, or do you wait for the light assuming the other car should trigger the light? I don't recall if the law states you have to be the only vehicle in the intersection in order to run a red light

Every morning I pull up to the same intersection. If i am the only one there...the oncoming side will go green briefly, but will not come on my side. If someone is in the left turn lane next tom,e while I am going straight....the green turn light will engage.....and when completed....it will go green on the cross traffic!

Unless I see someone pulling up behind me....I use my best judgement and crash the intersection.

I believe IL is supposed to wait two turns of the lights or 240 seconds....something like that. 1,2, 3, 240.

Here in NC, it's legal to run the light after waiting for 3 minutes.

Of course, the trick is....unless you actually SEE a cop sitting around in sight of you, you can usually get away with running it immediately. If a cop happens upon you as you do it, you can claim that you'd been sitting there for the three minutes. Guess it depends on how believably you can tell lies.

It wasn't at a stoplight, but one morning at 0500 on my way to work, i came up to a stop sign with absolutely no traffic around anywhere. I came to an ALMOST stop (as close to stopping without putting my feet down). Of course there was a cop hidden away somewhere. $75 fine.
