Default Tour Pack Adjustment

Hi folks,

New to Harley, not to bikes. I was looking for a way to move my 99 FLHTC's tour back back a few inches. My fiance is almost 6' tall and ... not skinny lol She needs some more room back there!

I know I read somewhere that someone makes a plate to move it back a few inches, but I can't recall where I read that.

Or...better yet...is there a DIY method of doing this?

With my napkin engineering, if I made a plate the shape of a Baseball home plate, and put 3 spacers in to raise it up about a quarter of an inch off the mount bar, I could then reverse insert some screws and bolt down the tour pack to that...in theory. It would raise the pack, but only about a half inch, and I could essentially move it anywhere I wanted.

Thoughts?

don’t think so, you have to buy a kit to move it. At least my 13 doesn’t move, guess it could’ve changed since then

My 2012 has two mtg. positions, pull the liner from mine and remove 4 bolts, move forward or back and replace the bolts. There is a steel plate with 2 sets of holes.

Yeah, I see the two holes, but the bolts are already in the forward most hole set

I'll try this first, being the cheapest method.

I was worried about drilling extra holes into the support bar, but if it's been done, I can do it too!

Thanks!

The Tour Pac has two sets of holes inside about one inch apart. it might not be drilled out yet. You also can move it back with drilling new holes on the mount plate.

Use a piece of 5/16 aluminum plate for additional support.
