a lot depends on your riding, meaning some people the way they ride are a little harder on their motors and others harder on their trannys. BUT averall I would say there are more things to go wrong with in the motor than the tranny. Also the motor has to change directions of travel which is harder on mechanical parts. A tranny always rotates in the same direction and rotates slower than a motor does. Twim cam motors are built more stout than the evos with larger bearings and pins etc., so they should comfortable see 100,000 miles before rebuilds. If you don't ride hard you should have a few miles left on your bike.

If you haven't already been inside for anything, I'd recommend you go in and replace tensioner pads and cam bearings. The stock inner cam bearings are sub standard compared with the torringtons; and the torringtons are cheap insurance [something like $10.00 a set] If the tensioner pads go out, you will tear up your oil pump and everything else in your motor as the metal on metal starts sending fragments through the motor. At 34,000 miles, I swapped out cams and went to gear drive so I wouldn't have to worry about the tensioners anymore.

Where in MN are you from anyway? I'm in Mankato if you're ever in the area.
