see if you can unplug the siren module until you are done experimenting.

This didn't work on my 12 UC. Admittedly, it might work for the OP's 06, but it definitely didn't work on my Ultra. As soon as you pull the siren out, it loses power and goes off for as long as the internal battery will last. In my case, that was a long time. Don't ask me how I know.

This is for the newer proximity FOBS like yours, to disconnect the siren.
If you have a working FOB.... with the FOB present, turn the ignition on and wait for the disarm of the security system. Pull the maxi fuse. Then you can disconnect the siren.
You have to push the button to activate or disarm the system with the older manual FOB.
Here's the way to do it with the manually activated system
Turn the ign switch to accessory,
QUICKLY hold down both left and Right signal switches until the key
lamp flashes rapidly, enter the
first digit on the left And use the right as an 'enter' key,
enter all five digits of the
passcode and the system will Disarm, if you screw up, the
alarm will activate and you will have
to wait ten minutes.
So as an example, if your code was 12345..................
Ignition to accessory.
Quickly press and hold both signal buttons until the key lamp flashes.
In order:
left 1 then press right
left 2 then press right
left 3 then press right
left 4 then press right
left 5 then press right
System should disarm
i will try again. but the last time i did get the fast flashing but i did not see the 0---- you are supposed to see on the odometer. i got that far but could not enter the code.

I'm not sure of the 0 that you're talking about. I thought it would show 5 dashes.... just enter the code when you get the rapid flash. After you enter the code, if you did it right, you will get the disarm turn signal flash.
