I have mine set to auto dim yet it often does not dim or go back to full bright unless I uncheck auto dim, then recheck it. Anyone else have this issue? Am I missing something here?
I, too, have that problem on my 2014. H-D must be using the same old s/w on the new 2015s.
If I go into a tunnel it will switch to night riding ok. When I go back into daylight, it seems to take 8 - 10 minutes to switch back to day riding. What a PIA.
Totally unacceptable IMO. I really do not like the idea of unchecking the auto dimming making it manual. Key feature that you should not have to screw with daily.
I have the same issues also. If I ride to work in the early morning, in the dark, then start the bike in direct sunlight in the afternoon to go home, the screen will be blacked out... Way to dim to see in bright light. After a few minutes it comes on, but is a pain in the butt.
I just adjust manually now. Hopefully they will get this fixed in future software updates.
