I have a 2013 Street Glide
I put the Harley Davidson premium shocks on this past weekend
Do they soften up any after some miles of riding?
I have the adjustment **** counter clockwise the entire way, I can bounce up and down on the seat as hard as I can and it seems as though instead of shocks I have solid steel bars bolted on in their place.
I rode around 30 miles or so on Sunday, I felt every bump, some even sent me bouncing off the seat, these shocks aren't any better than the stock air shocks I took off.
From what I have read Progressive shocks even with the standard springs are stiff for some people also.
Does any shock company make shocks that will soak up the bumps for a guy that is 175lbs.
I ride solo 100% of the time.
Thought about getting a fat girl to ride with me, kinda hate to go to that extreme to get a comfy ride.
Anyone have the same problem, if so, have you found a solution yet?
Thanks
Not sure if it would make a difference in the stiffness, but just wanted to make sure you got the right shocks for your SG, 54000091 ? The other ones, 54000008 are a little higher.

I put the premium low shocks on my 09 Street Glide like 3 years ago and noticed a big improvement over stock right away. Not sure what I have them set at but it's at least a few clicks off zero. I'm 200 lbs and my lady is around 100. The shocks are a little stiff when riding solo but perfect when she's on the back so I just leave them at the same setting all the time.
The Premium Shocks were a definite improvement ('09 SERG). When I added the Premium Forks after 2-3k, the ride / handling was exponentially improved!!! (once everything settled in about 1k)
For any good motorcycle suspension, the front & rear have to play well together...
I ride on Legend Suspension Revo coil spring shocks. They ride like a dream. The Revo uses a much longer spring than most shocks and that provides a larger "sweet spot" in the ride. They are made in Sturgis, SD USA as well.
I am 165 and I have them backed all the way out. Riding Solo they are only a small improvement. However, riding two up, they are an enormous improvement.
