I have a 2013 Street Glide
I put the Harley Davidson premium shocks on this past weekend
Do they soften up any after some miles of riding?
I have the adjustment **** counter clockwise the entire way, I can bounce up and down on the seat as hard as I can and it seems as though instead of shocks I have solid steel bars bolted on in their place.
I rode around 30 miles or so on Sunday, I felt every bump, some even sent me bouncing off the seat, these shocks aren't any better than the stock air shocks I took off.
From what I have read Progressive shocks even with the standard springs are stiff for some people also.
Does any shock company make shocks that will soak up the bumps for a guy that is 175lbs.
I ride solo 100% of the time.
Thought about getting a fat girl to ride with me, kinda hate to go to that extreme to get a comfy ride.
Anyone have the same problem, if so, have you found a solution yet?
They do require some breaking in. Couple hundred miles. I thing the Progressive or Ohlins shocks may adjust better than the Harley premium shocks.
Keep riding it.
I think they do change some what after some miles, I have the standard length shocks I never thought it was stiff but I do feel it rides better now that I have some miles on them.

Thanks
I had these shocks on my ultra for roughly 1,000 miles. While they did get a little better over time I found that the shocks were good for two up riding at the first click and too stiff for me when riding alone. Purchased a set of Ohlins for close to the same money and got a better shock and a better ride.
I just put the standard height Premium on my '12 SG a couple of weeks ago. I weigh 250 and had them set on 3 and my first impression was they were stiff and slightly better than the air shocks. Once I got past a couple of hundred miles it really settled in nicely. I bumped them up to 7 riding 2 up and they were wonderful. She would almost every ride get a harsh jolt on the old air shocks and let me know it. We put on 270 miles last weekend and she could only say how nice the ride was now. I really like them over the air shocks.
It's great that Harley seem to have come up with a decent set of shocks at long last. Now all we want them to do is adopt them as standard production items - and offer top shelf Ohlins or similar as the 'new' premium standard!
