NO!

I vote for chaps, easy to take off and put on. Keeps you warm. Don't wear them when you're not riding!

Chaps, and not just any chaps...Fox Creek Leather is the best leather out there, and it's made in the USA!!

I also have both chaps & pantstaylor made by Langlitz Leathers. I got them when I ordered a goat skin jacket. Full length zippers on the pants and zipperedpockets. But I wear the chaps most of the time. The chaps snap over whatever belt I'm alreadywearing. You can alsofind rain pants that have full length zippers on both legs as well. I don't even have to take my gloves off to get mine on in just a couple movements.

Another vote for chaps. Great down to about 45 over just bluejeans. First Gear riding suit comes out after that.

I make my own chaps...out of heavyweight "chap" leather...they keep my legs warm down to the low 30's...dont ride cooler than that though.

Chaps here. They keep me plenty warm when it's cold. I also live in California so I probably don't count.

Chaps. Definately. Pants are good enough while you ride, but sooner or later, you've got to get off a take a break, and at that point you look a little different...

I have a pair of cold weather denim jeans from Icon. They are extra thick denim with a type of flannel sewn in. They keep your legs warm down to about 50 degrees or so. The downside is that you cant simply take them off like chaps;you need to change into another pair of pants.

The Village People ruined chaps for me. Just can't get past that. Plus, as fat as I am, a whole cow would need to be used. I redneck it. When it is cold, I put on an extra pair of jeans I keep it the saddle bags. Can you hear the BANJOS?

I'll say NO to the fringe. I've got a pair of chaps with the fringe. While I think they look really cool, the wind when riding is constantly tugging at your legs, trying to pull them off the boards. I thought several time about taking a utility knife and cutting the fringe off them, but then I got a pair of overpants and really love'em.
