Every headlight that is dot certified can not exceed a certain candela limit. While i like the the led's , you can get a brighter light. Start with a Cibie or Hella H4 headlight. Get an Osram 65/70 watt H4 bulb . Using 14Ga. wire and a ceramic plug, wire it all into a pair of (one for each beam) either Panasonic or Bosch relays. This will be very bright, the drawback being it takes more power and you will need a new bulb every year or so.

Man, I didn't get far in reading this post before deciding to post.....I second YB's opinion. PLUS...on my Canada trip, my buddies thanked me for lighting up the NY and PA mountains for them. I said...."let me get in the back and watch this!" They both bought one once we returned. Not only did I light up the roads ahead, but the sides of the road and the street signs looked like they had reflective material in them.

Oh, I have the reflective and not the projector....not sure what everyone recommended, but I'm willing to argue that reflective is better than projector style. And I do know that HID? bulbs are great also---but I've had two buddies have issues with theirs...the ballasts? going out on theirs.

I would check out JW Speaker 8700, you get the same light without the Harley logo on it for quite a bit cheaper. They're also releasing the 2nd Gen light that has a much better high beam. I got mine from ok4wd.com ... they have them listed as a 7 inch headlight for jeeps.

Check Craigslist. I got my headlight for $250 and the auxillarys for $220 they were new take off daymakers. I don't think I will not have one of the server again. A huge difference from stock light.

I passed a 15 RG yesterday oncoming on the HWY. I thought his headlights sucked and made me appreciate my daymaker.

Looks like that JW Speaker 8700 is the projector style.

I'm going to look into the Rivera Primo 7", it might be pretty good.

+however many on the Daymaker Reflector.

Told the wife it was a 'safety modification' being brighter so she didn't balk at the price - and it was worth every nickel. It's like riding with your own little piece of the sun in your fairing. Even during daylight, you can see the reflection from street signs WAAAAYYY down the road. At night, it's got good dispersion and no dead spots to speak of.

Not sure what the best price/deal is, but even at dealership prices, it's worth it.

The HD Daymakers are a good modification for any bike.

Good looking on or off.

Money well spent as they light up the road at night and are visible from a distance during the day.
