Thinking about getting the Daymaker

i was in somewhat of a similar situation. my wife (2012 road glide with daymakers) was riding next to a buddy (2006 road glide with upgraded bulbs) and were coming straight towards me. my wife's daymakers were significantly more visible than his upgraded bulbs.

I don't know if I did the link thing correctly or not but there is a good comparison write up between the Daymaker Reflector and Projector. Take the time to read it, it is not bad and may answer your questions.

I installed the Daymaker Projector a couple months ago, and finally got to do some night time riding(work schedule). By far the best mod I've ever done to my bike. Riding out here on these dark desert roads this thing lights up the night. Will never go back to a regular bulb.
