We shipped our Glide to the USA back in 2003 for the Centenary celebrations and covered around 3,500 miles in our more modest trip of a lifetime. Shipping and other bike-related costs roughly doubled the cost of the holiday. At least you're already there! No excuses......
I can't open the link, but if you can't do a cross country trip now, do a shorter tour - a couple thousand miles of two lane highways is a nice week's vacation.
Wow, I thought my recent trip through Colorado/Utah at 4,800 miles was epic...21K miles would be a blast. Planning to meet a buddy next year in Milwaukie then doing Route 66 before heading north again. I'm taking the long way there - going down south and through the Texas Hills. Should be a bit over 8,000 miles. That's the plan anyway.
Awesome pics. Were talking about doing the ride out I 80 and circling back across I 90 loop next year around sturgis time frame. So i can tick two things off the bucket list at once. Time and money will be the limiter on the trip.
